Clear & Brilliant Laser is exactly what its name says it is: Dipping your toes into the laser resurfacing world
As the daughter of a skilled cosmetic nurse injector, my skin journey is far from trouble-free. Despite my efforts to combat sun damage, active acne, enlarged pores, and facial pigmentation using the Zo Skin Health skincare line, maintaining a consistently clear complexion has proven to be a unique challenge. While Zo Skin Health has played a pivotal role in controlling my skincare through exfoliating, serums, and retinoids, I found that the transformative improvements I sought surpassed the basic foundations of skincare. It became evident that nothing could quite compare to the efficacy of the lasers at Modern You Medical Aesthetics.
For my skin’s winter cleaning, I decided to go for a Clear and Brilliant treatment. It is a gentle resurfacing laser that works by creating millions of microscopic holes in your skin. That damaged skin is replaced with healthy, younger looking cells. It boosts collagen production to address fine lines, wrinkles, and pores, and helps your skin shed the dark spots. Nurse Naomi Myhre (my mom) recommended it for me because it has almost no downtime. The Clear and Brilliant is like the CO2 laser's little sister, giving the same benefits to a lesser degree, but you can go out to lunch later that day without anyone knowing you had done anything. It takes a few treatments to get the types of improvements you get with one CO2 laser, but not having to hide out for a few days made it the best decision for me right now. The day of the treatment:
I arrived at Modern You Medical Aesthetics a half-hour before my treatment for numbing cream. It was greasy and felt tingly on the skin, but because of it I literally felt no discomfort during the treatment. It felt like she was running a loofah over my face. The laser hand piece has two rollers on it that allow it to move over the skin. I could feel it touching me, but literally had zero pain. After the treatment she applied vitamin C and SPF (by AlumierMD). She said that the microscopic channels the laser creates helps the serum penetrate better. On top of the serum/spf, she applied a post-procedure recovery balm by AlumierMD. Over the next week, I applied what she gave me in the mini travel size post procedure kit.
On day 1: Post Treatment
The light swelling was gone, and I noticed that tiny, dark dots started to appear all over my face. From a distance, I just looked a tiny bit tan, but up close you could see millions of tiny tiny dots, these would shed/wash off over the next few days. My skin felt a little tight and dry, and I continued to apply the Recovery Balm and SPF. The best part was nobody noticed I had anything done!
On day 2 and 3, my skin started to feel rough to the touch. The dots became darker and my face looked a bit more bronzed. When I washed my face the tiny black dots started to rub away.
By day 5, my skin looked visibly clearer and brighter. It literally was glowing and looked more radiant than ever. I can tell you that my skin went from decent to great. It is not often that I can look in the mirror and think wow, my skin looks great which ultimately
made me FEEL GOOD! The Clear and Brilliant laser was pain free, had barely any down time afterwards, and made my skin look fresh and glowing. I confidently affirm that this treatment earns
#TheNursesDaughterApproval.
