My Journey with Latisse: Real Results from Lash Growth Serum

Modern You Medical Aesthetics • April 4, 2024

I get tons of questions about my eyelashes so I figured it was high time I shared my secret for enhancing them.

Latisse: a prescription eye lash growth serum that comes in an eye dropper bottle and is applied like eyeliner. It helps your natural lashes grow longer, thicker and darker. You've probably heard of Latisse already, so in this post, I'll give you the lowdown on my Latisse experience and answer everything you ever wanted to know about it (but were too busy or lazy to Google yourself). Let's dive in!

My honest opinion: does Latisse work?

First of all, I have used Latisse on and off for years and the results are amazing. Yes I am wearing mascara in this photo but it doesn’t take away from the fact that Latisse gives results

What’s Latisse All About?

Latisse is made by Allergan the same company behind Botox. It’s an FDA-approved treatment/product specifically designed to promote eyelash growth. The magic ingredient here is bimatoprost, initially used to treat glaucoma. During clinical trials, patients noticed their lashes becoming longer, thicker, and darker. Allergan harnessed this discovery, creating Latisse to help everyone achieve stunning lashes.

Patience Pays Off

Latisse requires patiences

Unlike mascara, which gives instant results, Latisse works gradually. You’ll start to see improvements in about four to eight weeks, but to get the full effect, you need to use it for at least 16 weeks. Once you’ve reached your lash goals, you can switch to a maintenance routine a few times a week to keep your lashes looking beautiful.

Staying Safe with Latisse

While Latisse is generally safe, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional like myself before starting, especially if you have any eye conditions or are taking other medications. Some people might experience mild side effects like redness, itching, or darkening of the eyelid skin. Also, be sure to avoid applying Latisse directly to your eyes or lower lashes to prevent any unwanted issues.

More Than Just Looks

Latisse isn’t just about looking good; it’s also a fantastic solution for those with naturally thin lashes or who’ve lost lashes due to medical treatments like chemotherapy. The results can be truly transformative, helping you feel confident enough to skip the makeup or reduce your reliance on other lash-enhancing products.

My Final Review

Overall I would recommend this to my clients (of course if it’s suitable for you) because it truly does work! It’s safe to say that Latisse has my #nurseapproval
